Welcome back to The Little House (Montessori).
We embark on the theme of My World this term. Over a 2 week cycle through the term, your children will take home activities that are related to the theme. We endeavour to make each activity age appropriate.
There will be no school on the following dates:
Monday 7th July (Scheduled school holiday for Youth Day)
Monday 11th August (Scheduled school holiday for National Day)
Friday 5th September (Teachers’ Day school holiday)
There will be no extended day (half-day schedule for all the children) on the following dates:
Thursday 4th September (Last day of term)
There are excursions scheduled on the following dates:
Wednesday 16th July (Play: The Man who Planted Trees)
Wednesday 6th August (CHildren Biennale at National Gallery)
Wednesday 27th August (TLH Chinatown Heritage Tour)
There will be no morning session on those dates. Children who are not signed up for the excursion can be sent to school at 12 noon, after we have returned from the trip, if they are signed up for the extended day. Please be reminded that children who have not had the Term 3 Sign Ups Google Form filled have not been signed up for the excursions.
On 16th July, school will run as per normal for those who are not signed up (PG and N1s).
A gentle reminder that on the mornings of excursions, drop offs will be at Mayfair Park near the T-junction between Jalan Gaharu and Jalan Keria. Please look out for staff dressed in our school shirts.
A gentle reminder that "Show and Tell" is conducted by level and over several days. This will allow for better time management and greater period for discourse.
Mondays – N2ers (born 2021)
Tuesdays - K1ers (born 2020)
Wednesdays - K2ers (born 2019)
Fridays - N1ers (born 2022)
Please help your child pick an item to show. Due to time constraints, each child can only show and chat about one object.
A reminder that every child should come into school with a spare change of clothes every day.
We will issue reusable wet bags for soiled clothes. Each bag is numbered and should be washed and returned when it is ready.
Cooking is held every Thursday. Those who are sent to school and arrive after 9.30am (not on the school bus) will be unable to cook as they would have missed the cooking demonstration. Children with long hair should have their hair tied on cooking days.
Music and movement is held every Friday for N2ers, N1ers and PGers. Races will be on Fridays for K2ers and K1ers. We would appreciate that your children are attired in shorts and tee-shirts on the specified days to facilitate movement. Dresses for girls tend to hinder.
We would also like to request that you please send your children in on time each day. Drop-off starts at 8.30am and we close the doors by 9.15am and will reopen once more only at 9.30 am. Please drop us an email if you need to send your child in early.
For those who will be celebrating their birthday from 30th June to 14th September, kindly send at least two photos of your child for each year of birth, with notations, a week before your child's scheduled birthday walk. More information will be relayed to you by the directresses as each directress is allotted a birthday to celebrate.
Lastly but of no less importance, please ensure that the office is told of any changes in address and contact details. This is vital for cases of emergencies.
Our warmest regards,
TLH
